چکیده

This paper proposes the design of reconfigurable suspension systems in road vehicles. The purpose of the suspension system is to improve passenger comfort and road holding during travel and improve safety during various maneuvers. In the modeling the nonlinearities in the suspension system, the changes in the forward velocity and the change of the adhesion coefficient between the tire and the road are taken into consideration. The effects of the longitudinal or lateral load transfers during maneuvers or abrupt hard brakings are monitored in order to reduce their harmful effects on handling and comfort. When a fault (loss in effectiveness) occurs at one of the suspension actuators a reconfiguration is required in order to guarantee fault-tolerant operation. The design of the proposed reconfiguration and fault-tolerant control is based on an H∞ Linear Parameter Varying (LPV) method that uses monitored scheduling variables of the travel.

Model Predictive Control of a BCDFIG With Active and Reactive Power Control Capability for Grid-Connected Applications

Recently, Brushless Cascaded Doubly Fed Induction Generator (BCDFIG) has been considered as an attractive choice for grid-connected applications due to its high controllability and reliability. In this paper, a Finite Control Set Model Predictive Control (FCS-MPC) method with active and reactive power control capability in grid-connected mode is proposed for controlling the BCDFIG in a way that...

A magnetorheological fluid damper for robust vibration control of flexible rotor-bearing systems: A comparison between sliding mode and fuzzy approaches

Squeeze Film Dampers (SFD) are commonly used for passive vibration control of rotor-bearing systems. The Magnetorheological (MR) and Electrorheological (ER) fluids in SFDs give a varying damping characteristic to the bearing that can provide active control schemes for the rotor-bearing system. A common way to model an MR bearing is implementing the Bingham plastic model. Adding this model to th...

Robust Model Predictive Control for a Class of Discrete Nonlinear systems

This paper presents a robust model predictive control scheme for a class of discrete-time nonlinear systems subject to state and input constraints. Each subsystem is composed of a nominal LTI part and an additive uncertain non-linear time-varying function which satisfies a quadratic constraint. Using the dual-mode MPC stability theory, a sufficient condition is constructed for synthesizing the ...

Model Predictive Control for Mobile Robots with Actively Reconfigurable Chassis

Actively reconfigurable chassis enable planetary mobile robots to access more varieties of terrain. While typical approaches for exploiting such mechanisms reply on feedback control, it is beneficial to consider actively controlled elements at planning time rather than during motion execution. In this paper we present an approach for extending work in model-predictive trajectory generation to a...

Vibration control of an automotive engine using active mounts

In this research, vibration control of national engine (EF7) using active mounts is studied for two different mounting layouts. The first layout is based on the current engine mounting of national engine (system of three passive mounts), but the hydraulic mount is substituted by an active mount. The other mounting layout contains 4 mounts, 2 of which are active ones and the others are passive m...
